"Star Wars: Ep.3 - Revenge Of The Sith" - Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) Hero Lightsaber Hilt

$27,000.00
Sold

A metal, hero, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) lightsaber hilt made during the production of the third Star Wars prequel film. This particular saber was designed to look similar to the weapon wielded by Jedi Master Kenobi in both the The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. This is not the main Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber prop design used during filming of Revenge of the Sith, but in fact an alternate design ultimately unseen in the final cut of the film. It is uncertain why a handful of newly crafted hero sabers resembling the previous EP.1 and EP.2 Obi saber were originally built for the production Revenge of the Sith, as within the continuity of the prequels, Obi-Wan Kenobi is using a “new” lightsaber at the beginning of the third film meant to be the prop he wielded in the 1977 original. However, we know of at least one scene that was shot with this saber as it can be clearly seen hanging from McGregor’s belt in one of the deleted scenes. Examples of this unique prop have also been featured in official Lucasfilm prop displays as well as spotted in the Lucasfilm Archive. An extremely rare chance to pick up a hero Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber prop from George Lucas’s original films.
